Meet Emma MacKenzie.
Registered Physiotherapist (MScPT)
Registered Physiotherapist | acupuncture provider | Runner |Originally from Prince Edward Island, I completed my Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology at the University of New Brunswick in Fredericton before earning my Master of Science in Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University. Since graduating, I worked in both private practice and acute care in Halifax, Nova Scotia, where I had had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of patients, including active individuals recovering from injuries to those looking to regain strength and function following illness.
Growing up, I spent many years playing soccer, which gave me an appreciation for movement, teamwork, and the physical demands of sport. In more recent years, I developed a passion for running and have completed two half marathons. This gave me firsthand insight into both the challenges and rewards that come with training, and has helped shape my approach to rehabilitation and my passion for helping people of all activity levels stay active and return to the activities they enjoy most.
I believe rehabilitation should be tailored to each individual. I enjoy building relationships with patients and understanding what motivates them to create treatment plans that fit their goals and lifestyle. I have completed Level 1 Dry Needling certification with Acupuncture Canada and enjoy continuing to expand my clinical skills through ongoing education.
Outside of the clinic, you’ll likely find me out for a run, trying a new fitness class, at a concert, or discovering a new restaurant. I’m also very passionate about travel and love to hear people’s suggestions on where my next adventure should be. Some of my future race goals include hopefully training for my first marathon within the next year!
I’m very excited to be joining the team in downtown Toronto and look forward to becoming part of the city’s active and running community.
