Pelvic Health Physiotherapy
Support for performance, daily life, and everything in between.
It doesn’t have to be “just the way it is.” Move with comfort, strength, and total confidence.
Your life shouldn’t be limited by your pelvic floor. Whether you’re navigating the demands of daily life, returning to movement postpartum, or chasing a personal best in the gym, your pelvic health is a vital part of your overall well-being.
We provide a welcoming environment for active humans of all genders, ages, and life stages. If you’ve ever found yourself avoiding box jumps or avoiding something you love because of pelvic symptoms, we’re here to offer a different perspective. We believe that staying active is a key part of the solution, and we're here to help you get back to it.
Our goal is to help you move with confidence, both in sport and in daily life.
We can help you find relief from:
Leakage during activity (running, jumping, or even a sudden sneeze).
Pressure or heaviness in the pelvis during exercise or at the end of a long day.
Recurring hip, groin, or back pain that hasn’t responded to traditional treatments.
Core weakness or a feeling of "disconnect" during movement.
Discomfort that affects your work, sleep, or social life.
Pain with intimacy.
You’re an active human, and you need solutions to support you in your active endeavours.
We’re endlessly frustrated by stories of active humans who have been discharged from pelvic health care while never being challenged to push beyond the treatment table. We don't just treat the symptoms; we look at how your pelvic floor coordinates with the rest of your body.
What to Expect
Our goal is to give you the tools to live a life full of movement. Dance, jump, run, and play with the confidence that you’ve got this!
At our clinic, you’ll get:
Comprehensive Assessment: We look at the whole picture, how you breathe, how you move, and how you manage pressure throughout the day.
Internal & External Techniques: An internal exam (vaginal or rectal) is often the most direct way to assess muscle function, but if an internal exam doesn't feel like a great fit for you, no problem! We have lots of other techniques to offer and will always meet you where you're at.
Goal-Aligned Planning: We bridge the gap between clinical treatment and your real life. We won’t just give you a generic list of exercises; we’ll help you apply what you learn to your specific hobbies, sports, and daily routines.
Our team's deep, personal love for running is the heartbeat of everything we do.

Frequently Asked Questions About Pelvic Floor Physiotherapy
-
Think of it as physiotherapy for the muscles at the base of your core. This specialized area of practice focuses on the muscles, joints, and connective tissues of the pelvis that support your organs, control bladder and bowel function, and stabilize your body during movement.
We treat the pelvic floor just like any other muscle group, assessing strength, coordination, and tension to address issues like leakage, prolapse, pelvic or hip pain, and recovery from pregnancy or surgery.
-
Pelvic health is for every body. We provide inclusive care for all genders and ages, including:
Active Individuals: Addressing exercise-induced symptoms and core stability.
Pregnancy & Postpartum: From prenatal preparation to a safe, guided return to activity.
Post-Surgical Recovery: Support following C-sections, hysterectomies, prostatectomies, or gender-affirming surgeries.
Pelvic Pain: Helping with chronic pelvic pain, painful intercourse, or tailbone (coccyx) issues.
Life Transitions: Navigating the changes that come with menopause, perimenopause or aging.
-
No. Physiotherapists are primary healthcare providers in Ontario, so you can book directly. However, check with your insurance provider, as some plans may require a physician's note for reimbursement.
-
Depending on the case, it is often recommended because it’s the most accurate way to assess what’s happening with the muscles inside the pelvis. That said, it is never mandatory. We can gather significant information through external movement screens and targeted history-taking. You are always in control of the session, and we will never push you to do something that you aren’t comfortable with; there are always alternative strategies available to us.
-
Not at all. We treat athletes who have never been pregnant, men navigating prostate health or pelvic pain, and individuals of all ages. If you have a pelvic floor, you can benefit from pelvic health physio.
-
Nope. Many of our clients come in for performance optimization or "pre-hab”, or even simply curious to better understand and support their body. A few common things we see include:
Preparing for childbirth or recovering postpartum
Learning how to safely return to running, lifting or sport
Preventing future issues like leakage or prolapse
Building confidence in your core and pelvic floor connection
Think of it like seeing your dentist! You don’t wait until you have a toothache to go for a check-up. Pelvic health physio can help you move, perform, and feel your best at any stage!
-
You can still come! It does not interfere with the assessment or treatment. However, if you feel more comfortable rescheduling, we completely understand.
-
Every body is different. After your initial 60-minute assessment, your therapist will work with you to create a clear roadmap with a projected timeline based on your specific goals and progress.
-
Yes, absolutely. This is a favourite area for us because there are so many myths and fear-inducing rules surrounding it.
We’ll start by helping you understand exactly what diastasis is (and isn't), moving past the idea that your core is "broken." We look at how your pelvic floor and deep abdominals work together to manage internal pressure, and we’re on a mission to make you an expert at managing and building tension in that tissue.
Our goal is to ensure you walk out with:
Movement Clarity: A clear understanding of which movements to be cautious of, and how to modify them so you can move freely and with confidence.
A Tension Strategy: The skills to generate "functional tension" across the midline, restoring the support your body needs.
Total Confidence: A roadmap to restore function so you can lift, run, and move without second-guessing your core.
-
It’s a mix of education (understanding the "why"), manual therapy (hands-on work), and movement. You’ll leave every session with actionable steps to take at home, in the gym, or in your daily life.
-
Yes! While we can't do hands-on work virtually, we can provide incredibly effective coaching on pressure management, breathing techniques, and exercise progression via high-quality video sessions.
