Running Physiotherapy in Toronto & Hamilton
We're here to help you get out of pain.
We believe physiotherapy should treat your injury AND optimize your approach to running.
Good physiotherapy should do more than just provide a temporary fix to your problem; it should help you become a smarter, stronger athlete that is better prepared for the demands of the sport and less likely to face that injury again in the future.
Running injuries are multifactorial and your success depends on an interplay of biomechanics, recovery habits, training load and more.
We dive deeper with a multipronged approach, allowing us to identify the changes that will have the biggest impact and generate the fastest and most enduring outcomes.
Our approach blends expert assessment, manual therapy, exercise prescription, acupuncture/needling and education with advanced Running Gait Analysis to create a clear roadmap to get you back to finding joy on the run.

What to Expect During Your Session
Physiotherapy at The Running Academy is designed to directly address your symptoms while helping you become a smarter, stronger athlete that is fully prepared for the demands of the sport. During your sessions, your physiotherapist will:
Audit Your History and Training Loads: We dive deeper than just where it hurts. We look at the big picture, including your current mileage, recovery habits, and training history, to figure out exactly where things fell out of sync.
Assess the Whole Athlete: Before diving into treatment, we evaluate your strength, mobility, and movement patterns to identify the "low-hanging fruit", or most impactful changes you can make right away to see results, as well as longer-term opportunities to help you move and perform your best.
Deliver Targeted Treatment: We use an integrated, hands-on approach to relieve pain and restore function, blending tools such as expert manual therapy, acupuncture or dry needling, and tissue work.
Build Your Performance Roadmap: You’ll walk away with a clear, actionable game plan. This includes simple, run-specific strength and mobility exercises, load-management strategies, and technique cues to ensure you return to the sport you love stronger, faster, and more resilient.
We Know Runners Because We Are Runners
We don’t just treat runners; we live the sport. Our "sweet spot" is the intersection of clinical expertise and a genuine obsession with all things running (yes, we did follow the marathon last weekend, and also yes, we are stoked for the upcoming track season!).
